Yesterday I broke away from the christmas cards and made a birthday card for a friend. Everytime I make a birthday card I always find myself saying, "I need a cute birthday stamp set." With the new catalog coming out I may just have to indulge. You can never go wrong with a birthday set.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line the presents up, and the corner rounder to make the scalloped edge.

Papers: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, Rose Red Designer Prints Paper
Inks: Rose Red
Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes, Tag Time (retired)
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Dimensionals, Grograin Ribbon

Shoot!

I left my camera in my husband's car last night, and forgot to get it out before he left for work. Since all my pics are on it, I will not be able to post them until tonight. And of course I have the time to do it right now....go figure.

Hope ya'll are enjoying all the hustle and bustle of this holiday season. I have really enjoyed all the christmas cards you've sent. I can't believe how photogenic you are. I can't get a good family pic to save my life. Seriously, it's impossible! Well, I am going to go out shopping and hopefully get it all done today. Only 7 days left!

Sweet Baby!

While at my MIL house during Thanksgiving break, she had a baby shower to go to. She was in a hurry and was digging through her cards and she couldn't find a baby one. She said, "Where's Kanani's cards when I need one?" So, I thought I would make her some baby cards and throw them in with her Christmas present.

Most of my stamps are from Stampin' Up! I have but a few from other companies. The first stamp that I ever bought was this cute little Giraffe. I love Him and think that he makes the best baby cards!
Papers: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Whisper White/Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Inks: Pretty in Pink,
Stamps: Canvas, Riveting (retired), Giraffe: Inkadinkado, Inc.
Accessories: Grograin Ribbon, Circle Punches, Scallop Punch, Corner Punchh, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, 1/16" Hand Punch

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers

I just joined Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers! aka: SBS5

I along with 30 other fabulous stampers will be in group 5. SBS is a site where you can sign up to join a group where you visit each other's blogs throughout the week and check out what they have been working on or what creations they have posted. It is a great way to get feedback and make some friends along the way! There's still room in my group-so chekkit here.

For all my fellow SBSers group 5, a little bit about me......

I am 31 year old, stay at home mom to 3 rambunctious boys ages 6,4,2. I have been married for 91/2 years. (wow-it's gone by fast!), and live in Utah where it's freezing cold right now. I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and have been stamping for only a year and a half. Once I tried it I was hooked! I usually find myself stamping into the weee hours of the night, as there is usually little time during the day. I have always been a crafty gal, and I enjoy doing other types of crafts as well. My favorite color is purple, my drink of choice is Dr. Pepper, and I LOVE going out to eat! I dislike anything creepy crawly-especially spiders, doing the dishes, and hearing my kids fight.

Simple No Layers

This time of season is always busy. We forget that sometimes we need to simplify things. The last few days when making cards, I have been concentrating on details, layers, embellishments, etc. I wanted to crank out a fast, easy, cute, card for fun and to remember that simplicity in form can be beautiful. This is what I came up with.
Papers: Whisper White
Stamps: Season of Joy, Small Script
Inks: Always Artichoke, Real Red
Embellishments: Real Red, Always Artichoke Grograin Ribbon

This card took me.......2 minutes. And it came out fabulous!
Well, I couldn't stop there. So I made 4 more. Super fast, super easy cards. Not too bad for not having any layers, right?

The great thing about these cards is that they really are fast to make, and they are super easy. Think simple and see what you come up with!

Chipboard Ornaments

Back in August, I started making my chipboard ornaments. I need to get them finished up, but here are a couple of them.
I bought a little mini christmas tree at Walmart for $6. I plan on hanging them on it and displaying it as my table centerpiece.

Christmas Pocket Card

Stamps: Riveting-retired, Season of Joy
Inks: Always Artichoke, Always Artichoke Marker/Real Red, Real Red Marker
Papers: Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Wintergreen Designer Series Paper/Real Red, Very Vanilla, Dashing Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Tab Punch, Scallop Punch, Circle Punches, Ticket Punch, Brad, Hemp Twine, Grograin Ribbons

Tonight I have been working on pocket cards. I love these and the way they turned out! I am digging the Designer Series Paper. It is perfect for christmas!

These cards were fun ones to make. Nothing too tricky about these cards.

Cut a piece of cardstock just like you were cutting it for a card: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score it at 4 1/4" and at 1 1/4" from the edge. Fold on score lines.

Then using red sticky tape found on page 185 of the catalog, run a strip up each side of the card (run the tape up the inside of the short side after you have folded down the flap in front. Otherwise your tape will be showing). Red sticky tape is the best adhesive to use. It will give you a permanent hold.

Next cut designer paper to size and adhere to card. Cut inserts and embellish as desired.

I made 2 inserts for my cards. The white back layer pulls out and will house a photo, and the pullout with the snowflake tab will have a written message.

I hope you try this technique out. If you do, be sure to send me an email/picture with your finished product. I would love to see it!
